Player Biography

Matthew made his first team debut for Dunfermline Athletic in the Scottish Challenge Cup match away at Inverness CT on 14th August 2018 before making his league debut against Partick Thistle later that season.

The 21-year-old experienced a loan spell at Brechin City in 2020 where he made 13 starts in total. Since returning from his loan spell he has been ever present in the Dunfermline first team after being selected earlier in season 2021/22 under the joint caretaker management of Steven Whittaker and Greg Shields.

Most notably known as a midfielder, Todd also displayed his versatility under former manager John Hughes as he played as a right full back in games throughout the season. Matthew committed his future to the club earlier this year after signing a deal until the summer of 2024.
