Chris came through the youth academy at Celtic, before signing for Greenock Morton in February, 2003.
He made his debut for Morton and played his first professional game away to Montrose on February 25, 2003. Since then, he spent 6 seasons with club becoming an important first-team playing with great success. He won promotion with Greenock Morton on two occassions, winning the Scottish Third Division title in 2002-03 and finishing the 2006-07 season as Scottish Division Two champions!
Chris one more season with Morton in the Scottish First Division before signing a pre-contract agreement with St Johnstone. In his first season at the club, he went on to make 38 appearances and won promotion again, with St Johnstone going up to the Scottish Premier League as champions!
Chris was an influential player at St Johnstone, spending 10 years with the club and lifting the Scottish Cup in 2014, defeating Dundee United 2-0 at Celtic Park in the Scottish Cup Final.
After having a testimonial with club, the experienced midfielder returned to Greenock Morton for the start of the 2018-19 season.
