After a late start to the 2020/2021 season, Inverness CT travelled to East End Park this afternoon to face a new looked Dunfermline side. Nikolay Todorov was brought into the starting line-up from the midweek league cup victory over Cowdenbeath along with Mark Ridgers and Scott Allardice.
It was a fine start for the away side who opened the scoring inside 2 minutes. Sean Welsh found Daniel MacKay down the right-hand side who delivered a great ball to the back post which was finished off by Todorov who gave Inverness the lead scoring his first competitive goal of the season.
James Vincent replaced Todorov through injury on the 20-minute mark and not long after the hosts were level through their captain Euan Murray. Dunfermline took the game to John Robertson’s side in the second half and two late goals from Ryan Dow and Declan McManus ensured a defeat for ICT in their opening league game of the season.
Elsewhere, Falkirk started strongly at Montrose in their second successive season in League One. Having overcome Clyde in midweek, Falkirk continued their run of form and opened the scoring just before the break through Akeel Francis. Montrose pulled a goal back just after the interval, but Callum Morrison snatched a second from the spot for the visitors 5 minutes from time after Lee Miller was brought down inside the penalty area.

A fine display was completed when substitute Robbie Leitch was played through by Morgaro Gomis on the right hand-side and his neat finish handed ‘the Bairns’ all three points in their opening game of the Scottish League One Season.
