Lee Ashcroft Closes In On Return

Lee Ashcroft is back in full training as he continues his recovery from injury.

Dundee defender Lee Ashcroft is back in full training as he closes in on a return to action after suffering a hamstring injury in March earlier this year.

The club’s 2021/2022 Player of the Year suffered a re-occurrence of his hamstring injury after initially being ruled out in November last year in a match against Motherwell which set him back three months.

The 28-year-old has been a major miss for the dark blues in recent months and is yet to feature under new boss Gary Bowyer since his appointment as the club’s new manager last month. It’s been a positive start under the new management team with the club undefeated in all fixtures to date, having played four games, won two and drawn two.

Dundee start their 2022/2023 Scottish Championship campaign off in two weeks on Saturday 30th July when they welcome Partick Thistle to Dens Park in the opening weekend of fixtures.
