Jamie Hamill Makes It Three Wins On The Bounce

Stranraer beat Cowdenbeath 2-0 to move up to fifth in Scottish League Two.

Jamie Hamill led his Stranraer side to a third straight win on Saturday afternoon. Three victories over Elgin City, Stenhousemuir and Cowdenbeath have moved the club just three points off Edinburgh City but with a game in hand over the side from the capital.

Goals from this afternoon’s win came from young forward Matty Yates and client Tommy Muir who netted for the second successive week after returning from injury earlier this season.

The Blues boss was delighted with his team after giving his thoughts at full time.

“I don’t think I could have asked for much more than a clean sheet and a 2-0 win. It was a scrappy came but in the first half we were excellent, we done the basics right, we passed the ball about causing them problems. It was very pleasing from a coaching point of view.

“We are just going to keep applying ourselves in the right manner because we have a good group in the dressing room. They’re always listening, taking information in and their work rate, their endeavour, the attitude and fight for the cause has been there for all to see.”
