Callachan Hits Double Figures

Ross Callachan netted his tenth goal of the season this afternoon as he helped Hamilton to a crucial 2-1 win at St Mirren. The 27-year-old midfielder has been a standout since joining Accies in the summer and praised his boss Brian Rice for helping him play the best football of his career.

“I feel at home here. I feel the manager believes in me, I believe in him and I think that I’ve shown that on the pitch when it matters.

“It’s good to give back to a manager when he believes in you. If I can chip in with more goals this season to help us stay in the league, then it would be massive, so hopefully I can do that.

Now with just two Scottish Premiership matches left of the 2020/2021 season, Callachan knows the magnitude of the remaining games and hopes to help secure top flight safety for the club.

“It’s two cup finals and we need to go in with the same attitude, work-rate and belief.

“It’s a massive game (Ross County) and it’s a game we need to win but we won up there last time so why can’t we do it again.

“You’ve got to try to enjoy it because when you play with a smile on your face, you play better.

“When you score goals and go ahead in games, it does make it easier. So, if we can do that then it would be great, but we need the same attitude that we showed today for the final two matches of the season.”
