Brian Reid has been appointed as the new manager of Albion Rovers.
The former Rangers & Newcastle United player replaces Kevin Harper ahead of the 2020/2021 season where he hopes to improve on the clubs ninth place position last season. Brian was previously manager at Ayr United in 2007 where he guided them to promotion into the Scottish First Division in his first season in charge. After spells in the Phillipines with Global FC and in England with Nuneaton Town, Reid returned to Scotland where he took charge of Stranraer in May 2015.
After being appointed manager, Brian expressed his delight in his new role: "I'm very happy, its a club I've known a lot about over the years. It's a well established club, a good family club as well and its a good opportunity for me to come in and make my mark hopefully".
"Any manager would come in and wouldn't want to be down challenging at the bottom of the table. I mean I'm an ambitious manager and any team I've got I want it to be competitive and be up the top end of the table you know. I'm not going to sit here and make any promises or things like that but one thing I'll say is that we'll certainly work hard, show a great attitude and the boys will be fit. We've got the Albion Rovers support that will come and get behind the team and get behind us all and be as vocal as they can so hopefully with that we can push on up the table and be higher than maybe where we were last season. That'll be my first ambition and then we'll take it from there".
Everyone at Superior Sports Management wishes Brian all the best in his new job.
